Standard Maintenance Windows Procedure
To maintain STU systems and equipment, ITS will schedule system and equipment maintenance using one of the predefined maintenance time slots below. These time slots are defined during periods of low activity to minimize any impact to STU students, faculty and staff. Maintenance is only scheduled as required, so not all maintenance time slots are used. ITS will notify affected students, faculty and staff prior to any planned maintenance specifying the time slot to be used.
The standard maintenance windows are:
Day of Outage | Hours of Outage | Total Outage Time |
Wednesday | 6am-7am | 1 hour |
Thursday | 6am-7am | 1 hour |
Sunday | 6am-11am | 5 hours |
Last Saturday in June | 6:30pm-12:30am | 6 hours |
First Saturday in November | 6:30pm-12:30am | 6 hours |
Last Saturday before March Break | 6:30pm-12:30am | 6 hours |
Standard Maintenance Blackout Periods
There are also standard maintenance blackout periods when we will NOT schedule Maintenance. These align with Critical points in the annual university activity cycle to reduce the risk and impact of unexpected failures and service interruptions, and also to reduce the risk of weekend or holiday work for ITS staff.
