Can I stop my audience from seeing the projected display temporarily?

Yes. This can be done by pressing the Mute Display button on the console. To display the projection, press the Mute Display button again.

Can I use my laptop to do presentations in a smart classroom?

Yes, as long as your laptop has a VGA port. If it doesn’t you will have to purchase an adapter for your computer to connect to a smart classroom.

How do I make reservation for equipment?

How do I show a DVD in a smart classroom?
  • Unlock the console and the cabinet doors to access the DVD player.
  • Ensure that the DVD player is powered on.
  • Press the Display Power button on the conosle. In most cases, the projector screen will lower automatically, and the projector will turn on.
  • Wait about 60 seconds until the green light on the console stops blinking.
  • Press the DVD button on the console.
  • Use the control buttons on the console to operate the DVD player.
  • To control the volume, turn the volume knob to the left to lower volume and to right to increase volume.

The light on the presentation remote is red and it doesn’t work. What do I do?
  • Press the hold button on the side of the remote.
  • The lights on the front of the remote should become green, indicating that it is ready for use.
What do I need to connect my MacBook to the projector?

You will need an adapter to connect to the VGA connections in the smart classroom.

What is a Smart Classroom

A smart classroom is a classroom that contains the following:

  • Windows 7 computer, with a built in DVD player
  • Projector
  • Projector screen
  • Speakers
  • External connections for laptops

Some smart classrooms are also equipped with a VHS player.

  • Generic Windows programs, including Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player
